I just had to inform my friend of this point. I live in CO, and she is interviewing for a position out here. She e-mailed me telling me that I need to get into skiing next season if she gets the position. Yeah...while I fully intend on continuing outdoor activities, I plan to mostly stick to those that can include the baby during the first year - like hiking. Baby will already have to be in daycare at least part time, so my plan is not to leave him/her at home during the weekends while I go out and have fun!

One thing I have learned from my friends that already have babies is we all think like that at first and then once you are comfortable leaving the baby with your H or someone else it's great to get away. A friend of mine goes out with another friend every friday night, and it's her H's alone time with their LO. They both love it. She gets to get out and not be Mom for awhile and he gets great bonding time.

Yeah, and I'm sure eventually I'll be willing to leave, but considering we'll have daycare so I might not want to be leaving a young baby much more than that, and getting to the slopes is at least a 1.5 hour drive from where I am I'm not going to commit to anything like that for right now
