I post on here from time to time because I love getting opinions. I believe the board has swayed me from Reagan, although it's still a possibility. We probably won't finalize the name until she's born, knowing us. I'm a perfectionist and enjoy the process. However, right now we are looking at Marin/Maren. Which do you prefer and which is more obvious on the pronunciation? (beginning should be prounounced like Mary). And what are your opinions on the name? MN will most likely be Sara after my grandmother who just passed away.
Marin Sara
Maren Sara
Re: Which spelling?
I like the idea of it, but it mouth jumbles me..it kind of runs together. Love Maren and love Sara just not together in this case.
Also so sorry for your loss.

My husband suggested "Maryn" last night and I threw up in my mouth a little bit. Bless his heart though, he doesn't know.
I love Maren....so sorry about your Grandma.
Living in CA, I have a difficult time making an unbiased call on this one.
Marin is pronounced Muh-rin (it's a county in CA)
and
Maren is pronounced Mare-in
I like Maren better.
We are using Maren Elisabet but it depends on how you plan on pronouncing it. FI is danish and so we are using the traditional danish spelling and pronounciation. If you are pronouncing it mar-in then I would go with the Marin spelling but Maren seems more intuitive to me. Marin looks like marine without the e everytime I look at it.
That's exactly what I was going to write. Go with Maren.
The name Marah (first syllable rhymes with car) is one of my favorite girls names. It beats Maren by a small margin imo.

So sorry for your loss.
I prefer Maren.
I like Maren better. To me, Maren would be pronounced Mare-in, whereas Marin would be pronounced like marina, only without the a at the end, so they are different sounds to me.
I also think Maren Sara doesn't have the best flow, but if you are using the middle name to honor your grandmother I think it's fine.
I pronounce both Mare-in. I've known a Maryn and a Maren, I think. I like Maren.

I think both are fine. Marin appeals to me more but either way, really.

I say them differently.
I'd say Muh-RIN , emphasizing the 2nd syllable for Marin. (Like Marin county, CA.)
Maren rhymes w/ Karen.
