Fit Pregnancy WTF

I was reading a free version of Fit Pregnancy last night for the first time.

Within 10 minutes I learned that I should be eating organic strawberries, not touching receipts and not handling plastic or my child will be born autistic and with cancer.

Huh?

I'm thinking that I'm done reading anything pregnancy related for awhile.   Somehow healthy babies are born everyday with mothers who don't read this junk.

Exhibit A of why I stopped reading What to Expect When you are Expecting when I first got pregnant.  They talk about all this really horrible scary stuff that could happen.  My DH thinks all this stuff is bs and gets annoyed when I mention it.

  • Slightly off the topic...did your magazine have the $10 Amazon coupon?  Mine didn't.  It had one from Motherhood maternity, but not Amazon.  I know someone else posted about this earlier....but I just wanted to confirm I wasn't crazy!

I had to promise myself no googling anymore for this pregnancy....I drove myself nuts the first trimester!!!!

  • Nope, and it came from a gift bag so I know it wasn't stolen.
  • ridiculous. i havent even purchased a single baby book for this precise reason.

  • This is why I haven't been reading much this pregnancy.
  • Yeah, that stuff gets a little old after you realize they want you in a non-toxic plastic bubble eating only organic food and exercising to keep yourself trim the whole pregnancy.

I never bought WTE either, after I heard they tell you lots of the same. I love the Mayo Clinic's guide, as well as Jenny McCarthy's "Belly Laughs". That's all I need, right?? Wink

  • Fit Pregnancy is a bit over the top, IMO.

I like Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy and Babycenter for any pg-related questions :)
