We were very forthcoming in announcing my pregnancy and the sex of the baby, but decided that we wanted a little something to hold onto for just ourselves without any input. We even kept the entirety of our name choosing process to ourselves. Now that we settled it, and she's due in two weeks, we decided to let our parents feel a part of the name process.
We picked out several 4x4 canvas squares and asked both sets to paint -- in any way they wish -- two letters each that we'll hang on the nursery wall to spell out her name. It's 8 letters long and so we'll have to paint two each ourselves. My MIL was SO excited about it, but racking her brain with the "I" and "E" we gave her to paint. I had my parents over the following day so that they neither set would get more clues. Dad was questioning what "M" and "L" were for. It was SO funny.
Re: Name surprise -- Trick the grandparents :)
This! I'm trying to figure it out myself!
Baby #4; 7/7/2018
HAHA! It's Madeline.
This! For the record my guess is the name is Michelle
The name kind of came out of nowhere and we both fell in love. We've been calling her Maddie for a few months now. Feels natural.
Michelle is a great name, too, but I have two very good friends named Michelle. Trying to find a name that isn't already taken by someone in your life without naming the kid after them is HARD! lol
That is a cute idea! Love the name too!
