B's not poo'd since last week Wednesday. He is horribly gassy, though it doesn't seem to be bothering him. And it's, like, room-clearing gas, too. And he always lets rip while nursing, so I'm trapped and can't escape the stench.
I've been nursing him frequently and have doubled my water intake (which was, like, 3 litres daily to start with. lots of peeing) but still no movement beyond the usual skid marks.
I told him he better share with the daycare ladies today or tomorrow or I'm calling the doctor and he won't like what the doctor has to say.
Re: Poop strike: Day 5
I hope he shares with the daycare ladies and not you because he may have a pooplosion.
We had something similar go on a few weeks ago. I talked to my brother in law who is a peditirian and he said that I could try to take his temp rectally and that makes most babies have to go. It doesn't hurt them and most babies don't mind it. It didn't work for us, so I ended up having to buy glycerin suppositories and give him one. I made my husband do it.

Sorry...that sucks. But I might trade you. We've got diarrhea going on over here. Loads of fun...
wow.. that's crazy! i wonder if you'll have to give him an enema or something?
my DH freaks if G doesn't go at least once every other day. i swear every time he cries, DH says oh it's because he needs to poop.
Aww
( Like Techie said, it's OK to go up to 14 days, but I can't imagine myself going that long...
My pedi said it was OK to give them one or two tablespoons of water as a laxative for them. Did you just start feeding solids?
Also, you can measure three fingerwidths down from their belly button and gently massage their lower abdomen between your tumb and forefinger.
I do that when DS is constipated to try and get things moving....and 90% of the time, he has a BM about a half hour to an hour later.
Keep us updated, and good luck!
