Hello everyone, I just have a question that someone can give me advice about. My DH and I had an IUI this past cycle. (2nd one) I was wondering if I'm having an miscarriage right now. I am suppose to start my period today. But last night I started having light cramping and then I noticed slight to no bleeding. Then this morning I woke up and I had a blood clot and bright red blood. There was not a whole lot of blood just a clot. I'm still having a few cramps but nothing to bad. I've had one other miscarriage about 3 years ago. I dont know if this is a miscarriage or if it is just the start of my period. I dont know what to do or think. Someone please help!

Am not sure but if you think you are having a MC maybe test and see if you were pregnant first.

No one here can tell you if you are pregnant or are miscarrying. You can try a HPT, or go in and get a beta drawn if you insist on knowing, but if you're having a c/p there is no way to prevent it from happening. FWIW, with my c/p I did not have a particularly heavy period.

If you were medicated, it could possibly be just a robust lining from your subsequent elevated E2 levels.

I agree with PPs, it is impossible to know without further testing.  My periods after IUI have been both painful and heavy due to the plumped up lining and I definitely was not pregnant, so my guess is that this may be entirely normal.

Ditto the PPs. It's probably just a thickened lining. Take an HPT to be sure but it just sounds like your period is starting. The blood clot is just that, a blood clot. Even on the off chance that you were PG and are miscarrying, nothing you would pass would be discernible at this early stage.

i would try a home test. Then call your doctor.
