New Orleans while nursing

Okay, so I am visiting New Orleans in a couple weeks and trying to prepare.

I have a Madela PIS so it's kind of large to bring. Any suggestions for a cheaper travel pump?

I don't drink alcohol very much so that's not a problem. BUT I love coffee! And can't see myself not wanting more than 1 at Cafe Du Monde.  Am I a horrible mom if I send that much caffeine though my baby? They use an Ethyl Acetate process to decaffeinate the coffee. That's okay, right?

I have travelled with my PISA... I just put it in my carry-on.  As far as caffine goes, have you been drinking coffee?  I never gave it up and DD doesn't have any problems.  I think if your LO is used to it, it shouldn't be a problem.  If not, wait a couple hours after drinking it before pumping.

The pump itself is v small - it's the bag that's large. It's all put together w Velcro & you can take out the motor. That being said, I've always just packed it all. As for the caffeine, DS doesn't tolerate coffee but that's bc I never drank it while I was pg or when he was tiny - I'm not a coffee person. I do drink about a gallon of caff tea a day w no problems so who knows.
