11 Month Old Not Eating Solids.

This isn't my first child ~ i do have a 14 and 15 year old.... Both my kids started eating table food , cookies , cheerios around 10 months old... My baby is 11 months old and will only eat 3 different baby foods with the exception also of any fruits and yogurts... He will eat Mac N Cheese with veggies ( only the Gerber in Plaastic container ) , Risotto and cheese with veggies , and the whole wheat pasta.. No chunks just the regular baby food stage 2's... Anything with chunks he gags and pulls out of his mouth. We tried mash potatoes and we got the same result... We had him eating the Gerber Yogurt snacks that melt in your mouth but now he has been pulling those out of his mouth and choking as well.

My question is ~ Is it normal for a baby at 11 months old to not be eating regular foods? Looking forward to hearing responses.

At 11 months old your son should be eating most table foods that you are. Try different things and see what he likes. Do you feed him when you are eating or at a separate time? My son won't eat very well when I try to feed him at a different time. But if I feed him the same foods while we are eating, he gobbles it down.

It takes time for some babies to get used to the textures. Just try small bites and keep trying. Get him interested in it, maybe if your other kids eat it around him he will want it too.
