I have a biter - HELP!

My son has just started biting any part of you he can get his mouth on. It used to just be a finger if you got it close enough. It was easy to tell him no, and he knew what that meant.

Now he is biting my shoulder when I carry him. I tell him no sternly but I don't think he understands that goes with the bite he just did.

Any suggestions??

Re: I have a biter - HELP!

  • DS bites my shoulder when he's hungry (& wants to BF). I don't really have advice for you but I know that my kid will be a biter too. Maybe he's just getting used to his teeth?

  • If my DS bit me I would tell him no and immediately put him down.  No sense of rewarding him by carrying him around.  It is the only suggestion that I have.  I do this for my DS who pinches.  Fun times Indifferent

  • Mine also pinches as well. Its easier to pull his hand away and tell him no when he does it.

I am carrying him around because he has a spica cast on and can't walk :( when it comes off I will be letting him move around on his own. Hopefully that will solve some issues.
