I don't want to buy clothes because she already has all of the cute girly clothes and stuff, plus baby accessories, and... everything else! What do I bring??
What about something for her...a gift card or gift basket.. Maybe for a spa or salon that she likes. I know that I loved having a pedicure close to delivery.
diapers, newborn/baby toys, gift cards for things like baby monitors and other little things she may need, diapers and don't under estimate things that the baby will need when it gets older such as sippy cups, bath towels, older toys, money, etc. there are tons of things that they will need
I have a friend who is the same way. She had a one year old daughter and was having another girl. I made her a few headbands and hair bows. I made big and little sister ones. They turned out really cute.
We have a 2 yr old DD and are expecting another girl. We needed hardly anything gear-wise and very little clothing-wise. In addition to diapers, the few items I can suggest that we needed new were pacifiers, an extra Soothe & Glow Seahorse (bc DD is still using hers every night), some fresh bibs, and then toiletry basics you can never have too much of - gas drops, A&D ointment, baby wash/lotion.
Most second time moms would love a 'Pamper momma' pack. Such as a gift certificate for a mani/pedi, a free 1-2 hour babysitting 'coupon' so she can go to a movie-take a nap-go shopping hasal free, massage oil/body wash/lotion/body mist in her favorite scent. You can do one of these or any combination, or come up with something she would like better. Personally I hope someone buys me a pedicure, I love them and we are so tight on money I'm not sure we could afford one.
Something just for mum. I loved getting something just for me at my babyshower. I think if I was going to have one this time round I'd love a maternity massage or something. Not many people think about the mum and we all love a little pampering (especially if you're pregnant with a young child )
I have appreciated a few new outfits. My second child will be born in a different season so it will take a while before they merge wardrobes. Also, white onesies....I could never have enough of those as they tend to get used the most and worn out. Bibs are always good as they tend to get ratty looking with the first child. I've kinda felt sorry for my second child as I haven't done nearly as much as I did for #1. Oohh ooh, here is another one. Crib sheets. If she has children in daycare, that means two sheets will go to daycare every week as opposed to one.....an extra sheet or two can help out.
What about a gift certificate for a maid service? Any new mom would like that, and with already having a LO I can see how there will be less time for housecleaning. I also like the idea of a spa certificate. If she is going to formula feed at all, maybe new nipples for her bottles since those would probably have to be replaced. I also like the baby book idea.
Re: Shower gift idea.. for 2nd time mom with a 1 yr old....
A giftcard to one of the places she is either registered at or was registered at with DD#1. Or diapers in size one or two.
We technically have everything we need for DD#2 except a crib and the nursery bedding. Hence why a giftcard would be useful.

A gift card for a baby book (every kid needs one!)
A book for her 1 year old about being a big sister.
Name blocks
A special blankie for the new LO
A gift card to go get photos done
& I like the idea of getting something for her! Spa, hair, bath & body, are all good ideas!
Landon & Porter
1-10-07 & 5-11-11
I like the diaper idea!
For all of my 2nd time mommy friends, I have gotten them a Mommy necklace (www.mommynecklaces.com)
They are always such a hit!
