Dirty Diaper Question...

How many dirty (poopy) diapers do your LOs have a day?  Just curious if 1 or 2 is a normal amount or if I should be concerned he's not pooping more often.

DS poops once, maybe twice. Sometimes he doesn't poop at all during the day and he will the next. as long as he is not constipated I am not concerened.

My pedi said as long as they go once every 4 days it is fine, although we are in the 3-4 times a day category right now.  I know BF babies go more often than FF babies.

I'm going to reply but as a disclaimer I think my LO poops too often.  Every diaper change is poop and pee which means 6-8 poopy diapers a day.  Just the last two days I have one diaper a day that wasn't poopy but that only happened once or twice.

babygirl is a pooping machine!  she still poops almost every feeding, though my pedi mentioned that sometime soon she should stop pooping so much, and may only poop once or twice a week, and that was normal.  but that it would be a very ugly and scary pooplosion if she only poops once a week.

no disclaimer needed.... ds was in the NICU and when the docs would ask how many poops, i would tell them it was with every diaper change. they said that it was perfect. bf (i was pumping) babies are supposed to poop a lot more than a ff baby.

and there was about three weeks that went by before i had my first diaper change that was not poopy!

DD is starting to go longer between poops now. Up until this week she would have gone almost every diaper change but now it's every 2-3 changes. It means more poop and more grunting/fussing from her though! But she is EBF so she does go more often.

DD usually has about 2-3 Poopy diapers a day and about 8 or so overall.

Almost every diaper has poop. I'm bf-ing and he's still gettting rid of his jaundice

Up unitl he was a month he was pooping at every feeding, so like 10 times a day. After a month it slowed down to about half, and he is almost 2 months now and its about 4 a day. He is EBF. I know FF or part BF and partial FF babies will poop less. When I had a really bad cold I had to take meds and my supply temp dropped we had to supplement some bottles with half formula and he didnt poop for 2 days and I was so freaked out. But its totally normal that the poop diapers start to slow down after a month and they can go just 1 time a week and thats normal.

Maybe one. She sometimes goes 2-3 days without pooping.

The first maybe 5 days LO was pooping with every diaper change, so 10-12 times a day.  Then it slowed to 3-4 times a day for maybe another week, since then it's been 1-2 a day.  Sometimes he'll skip a day, but usually it's 1-2 times a day.

My pedi told me that there are maybe types of "normal" you just want to make sure it's runny, watery or soft.  If it's hard, formed or bloody, then you should call the Dr.  Some babies poop a lot, some every few days.

This exactly. DS is FF, so his poop tends to be a little more formed, with a consistency as thick as peanut butter sometimes. Lately he's a once a day pooper, but he does occasionally skip a day or poop twice.

I have a FF baby, she she poops probably 8 out of 10 diapers a day still.

We have one sometimes two a day. I FF, I think it's ususally more when BF.
