Lexapro and bf?

Is lexapro safe while bfing? I will ask my dr this afternoon, but I was just curious. I am having a really hard time with my baby in the nicu and I need help! I walk around in a fog, never sleep and rarely eat. Not to mention I cry at the drop of a hat. I feel like my life will never get back to normal. Thanks!

If you can't get a straight answer from your doctor, try poison control.  I had good luck with them when I was BF and had a severe neck injury.  The doctors could not tell me the associated risk or any studies, where as poison control had a wealth of information, not just, "it is a class C drug, we don't recommend it", which is their normal line and applies to pretty much every drug not regularly taken by pregnant women, since the study groups are small or not studied at all.

Ask your Neonatologist too. They should be able to tell you what it safe or not.
