You only have to pump and dump if you are feeling engorged. You can just wait it out. It only takes about 90 minutes for one drink to leave your system (depending on your body weight and metabolism)

My question is, what if you're hungover? Is that milk safe too? I usually just pump and dump until about noon the next day if I feel hungover. I don't know if I need to do this.

Since a hangover isn't actually caused by alcohol currently in your system, I don't see a reason to pump and dump. Having a headache, being sensitive to lights and sounds and having vision trouble doesn't make bad breastmilk, it just makes a miserable mommy.

I agree with PP - if you're sober (even hungover) then your milk is safe. Be sure to drink plenty of water the next day because being hungover means you're dehydrated.
You could always buy some of those test strips just to be sure - then you don't have to waste milk if it's good!
When you are hungover you are feeling the effects of dehydration and lack of vitamin B. The alcohol has completely left your system (that's why you feel so terrible). Your milk is fine. Drink lots of water and take a vitamin.
