Help! My DS is a fussy eater

When my son first starting eating table foods he was all about it. Anything he could get in his hands he was shoving down his mouth. Now its a different story.

We put him in the high chair and all of a sudden he has an attitude and shakes his head at EVERYTHING. I can only get him to take a few bites before he freaks out but once he is out he is going after prezels (we keep them in a jar as a snack) and he could drink his bottle all day long...I don't get it.

I try not to give him a bottle before dinner but that doesn't work either.

I need some kind of help because he isn't getting what he really needs in his belly and its really starting to drive me crazy.

Re: Help! My DS is a fussy eater

  • Picky eating at that age is normal. They won't starve themselves, so I would just let him be. My daughter has never eaten solid foods, ever and she is 18 months, and she is fine. I am breastfeeding, but after talking to many many doctors these past few months, what you are describing is a phase and they grow out of it. If your DS is not losing weight or have failure to thrive, he is doing fine. They slow down in growth at certain times so they don't need as much food.
