Baby Names

Autumn

DH suggested this last night... I was friends with an Autumn in high school, but I do think it's a pretty name. Not entirely sure.

 Thoughts?

  • I go to Baby Name Genie and they have a spot where you can "test drive" a name. They plug your name into a whole bunch of sentences you might say to your child to see how the name feels.

  • Good name as long as if you have another DD you don't use the name Summer.

  • somewhat unrelated question: do you think it's ok to use a season or month name for a baby not born in that time?  i.e. to name a baby born in July "Autumn" or a baby born in December "June"?

  • I'm not a fan of it. . . Or any month, seasons, etc. names. I look at it as hippie-ish (which is TOTALLY not me). But if you guys like that sort of thing and are free-er people... go for it.

I absolutely love Autumn. It isn't uncommon and it's very "normal"... BTW, I'm the complete opposite of a hippie lol

I think it's fine to use it regardless of when your baby is due.

  • Love it!

I think it's fine. I actually think it's a little cheesy when seasonal names are used in season.

  • This is my nieces name and I love it :)

  • LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!

It would be on top of our list if we weren't having a July baby. (I have a personal hang up about this for some reason).

We may use it anyways...we both love it that much.

I think it's better that way, honestly. I think it is majorly cheesy to name a girl born in April, April and so on... I think by using it completely unrelated to the season/month in which the baby is born, it gives the name its own identity...which is a good thing. That said, I really like Autumn. :)

I dont see how it matters what season the child is born it.

I doubt all Archers will grow up to be Archers...Thatchers....etc..

  • I don't love it, but I like it.

  • Autumn is my middle name, and I love it. Not too common, and very pretty.

I am also the farthest thing from a hippie. Big Smile
