Happy Thursday ladies (and Happy St. Patrick's Day!)
Has anyone been diagnosed with low thyroid levels (hyperthyroidism)? I've had three blood panels done in the last 12 weeks, and each one my levels have come back low. It was tested pre-pregnancy with our IVF cycle in October and my TSH level was 1.19, which is considered normal. Now, it's low (no number given, I guess I'll learn more today).
Someone on the PAIF board shared that hyperthyroidism has been linked to hypermesis (severe M/S), which now makes sense to me, although I wasn't officially diagnosed with either until now. I have only gained back 6 of the pounds 20 pounds I've lost since our BFP, and at 20 weeks, that seems on the low side. (Especially since they wanted me to gain 40-50 pounds because of my twins!)
Just wondering if anyone is in the same boat... It's more common that pregnancy can bring on hypothyroidism, but I have the opposite issue. TIA!!
Re: Low Thryoid Levels? (long)
Are they testing more than just your TSH? Right now my TSH is very low but my other levels are all normal so my doc isn't as concerned. I was very hyperthyroid for several pregnancies and yes, I had horrible morning sickness for the entire 9 months for two of them.
Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12
Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
This Cluttered Life
They retested my TSH level in January and March, and it's been low both times. Today, they tested my T3 and T4 levels -- I should have the results in the next few days...
Thanks for the advice, ladies!!
