allergic reaction to rice cereal

I decided to try giving my daughter a little rice cereal mix with her formula to start her out on solids. I gave her the bottle in the middle of the night but when we woke in the morning she had a large rash under her chin. could it be the cereal or the milk dripping under her chin????

It could just be the milk sitting on her chin. I wouldn't do cereal in a bottle though, especially in the middle of the night, choking hazard. I would do cereal on a spoon if you want to start cereal.

The reason rice cereal is a first solid is because its very unlikely for baby to be allergic to it.  I'd imagine it was milk sitting on her chin.  Try cereal on a spoon during the day.
