IVF Protocol Questions?

Good morning Ladies,

I had an emotional follow-up with my RE yesterday but think we kind of have a plan, which is good.  However, my RE is very soft-spoken and his English leaves something to be desired, so while I trust him completely, I'm not sure I got the full jist of our plan. 

I'd be happy with the same protocol that I did before eventhough I only got 5 eggs on 450IUs of FSH but my RE mumbled something about adding Clomid into the cycle to try to get a few more eggs.  What is this protocol called?  Has anyone done an IVF cycle with Clomid + Injects?  I've done some googling but haven't come up with anything goo.  If you used clomid and injects, what was your response like?

    I remember someone being in a protocol for ivf including clomid recently. Patchen maybe? Good luck Jackie! I really hope this next cycle brings you your take home baby!

    Yes, Patchen did a protocol with clomid.  But she is on vacation this week.

    I didn't do an IVF cycle, I did an IUI one, but I did do clomid for 5 days and injections for another 5 days. With the dosages I was on it got me 2 follicles.

    I'm sure they'd adjust it so you would get more follicles for IVF.

    My RE recently suggested I try a protocol with clomid. He wanted to try EPP + antagonist with clomid instead of ganirelix. The theory was that I would get less eggs but they would hopefully, be of better quality. The thoery was that a gentle stim might work better on my old eggs.....some women just don't produce good enough quality eggs with high doses of stims. 

    I decided not to try it...we are going decided to move onto DE because I am just so tired.....

    I did one with clomid plus injects. I had always responded really well to clomid for my IUIs so I asked my RE if we could try it. For me, it ended up being a mistake and we had to convert to IUI.  The others are correct--this was what Patchen did for her successful cycle.
