Hi everyone! I just got my BFP yesterday!! We've been TTC since June of last year, and I am super excited (and nervous)! I hope I can come over here and stay awhile...
Forgive me if this has been asked already, I've looked at the most recent posts and didn't see it... It seemed to me like (at least on the TTGP board) a lot of times when someone announced their BFP they said they got a +HPT and then followed up with bloodwork at their OB to confirm. I called my OB this morning and they said that isn't necessary, and they don't want to see me until about 6 weeks along for a prenatal consultation, then 8 weeks with my OB for an exam. Is this unusual?? It just seems so long to wait! I did have a preconception consultation with my OB but that was almost 1 year ago and it was really brief... I'm eating healthy, exercising, taking folate & DHA (trying to get everything else from food but maybe starting a more complete PNV soon), and feel pretty well prepared but I'm just surprised they don't want to see me sooner. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!!
Re: Intro & Question
Normal! My OB's office schedules between 6-8 weeks w/CNP for prenantal Rx, bloodwork, general stats and recommendations... then between 8-12 weeks an appointment with my OB and I'll get a dating u/s (depends on your doctor).
The waiting game is no fun...
Most OBs will see you between 8-12 weeks unless you have a history of complications or if you have no idea when you ovulated maybe. Due to my health history, I have 6 wk, 8 wk, 12wk u/s prior to meeting the OB. But I do have friends that didnt have u/s until 16-20 weeks... And for one, on her 20 week appt she found out it was twins! imagine that! ha!
