I loved my OB at Licking Memorial but she has resigned halfway through my pregnancy. To make a long story short, I had a very long and painful labor with DS. He crowned for just over 4 hours. I tore badly, and he got a skull fracture. However, chances are that my pelvis has become larger since I had him and I could deliver baby #2 without those complications.
The new OB that is taking over her practice is very conservative and is wanting me to have a c/s "just to avoid the risk". I strongly feel that a vaginal delivery is what I need to do. I'm only willing to have a c/s when it become medically nessicary...not just to avoid a small risk. I called the midwives at LMH, but they cannot see me due to my gestational diabetes, which technically makes me high risk, even though it is well controlled.
So now I'm looking for a natural birth friendly OB. I am willing to deliver at Licking Memorial, OSU, or Riverside. I would prefer not to go to OSU though. I am in the New Albany area, so an OB in Gahanna, Westerville, or the East Side would not be out of the question.
I'm at a loss of what to do here. Help!
Re: Looking for a "natural friendly" OB! Help!
Hello,
I am also planning on having a natural birth, I just switched care providers yesterday, I am now going to Womens Contemporary Health Care, They have 2 Midwives who seem pretty awesome. They deliver at St. Ann's in Westerville. I was having anxiety about delivering and having to fight the hospital over a natural birth, but after talking to Emily one of the midwives I am much more comfortable. Their website is https://www.wchcare.com/ Im really excited about them. Good Luck!
I love Emily! She is who helped deliver my LO. did not have natural birth, but love the practive and Emily and Becky! They make you feel so comfortable all the time! Good Luck!! And the St. Ann's staff was awesome also!
I also go to WCH. Emily and Becky are great and the OBs are really nice, too. They just added 2 more OBs for a total of 4. I see the CNMs, but nice to know that if I need an OB, they have 4 awesome docs on staff. WCH came highly recommended by a few of my friends and I would recommend them to anyone, especially anyone looking for a natural birth.
