Baby showers! (Also on Baby Showers Board)

Hey ladies, I need some advice on a shower gift for my cousin!

I just saw her registry and everything is pretty much too expensive. (PnP, Breast Pump, etc). I know it was a huge blessing to me and DH that we didn't have to buy diapers for the first month, and since she and her DH are not in the best financial position, I was thinking of the following:

1) Nursing pads. She wants to breast-feed, and I know I hate using my own money to buy stuff like this.

2) Breastmilk storage bags. See explanation for #1.

3) Gerber NUK bottles. My DS is 2 months and this is the only bottle he uses. It's more like the shape of a mommy's nipple (maybe not as good as some of the more expensive bottles, but they work well for us and DS loves them!) so it's better for moms who BF and used pumped milk and go back and forth between the two.

4) 1 pk. size 1 Pampers Baby Dry diapers.

5) 1 tub of wipes.

I would wrap 1-3 in a gift bag, labeled "What goes in..." and wrap 4-5 in another bag "...Must come out."

Is this a cute idea? I know she is going to be getting LOTS of clothes, and I don't want to get her more of what she doesn't need.

None of the items 1-5 are on her registry (she registered at Bed Bath and Beyond), so I would include gift receipts for everything. I know I biitched about people not shopping from my registry, but now that I am a fresh mommy, I feel like there are newborn necessities (and mommy necessities) that maybe she didn't think about registering for? Thoughts?

perfect and creative. my only edit would be the bottles...we just ended up using the ones that came with our breast pump (medela freestyle) and got a few extras of those, and every baby is really different for which bottle s/he likes.... But, you are doing gift receipts so it really doesn't matter. Also, you are choosing a bottle that isn't Dr Brown's or one that people have heard of before like that, which is GOOD because it clues your cousin into a bottle that works great for you that she might not have known about already.

great idea.....I think all of these gift are usefull. I didn't have luck with the NUK bottles I use the Medela one's that came with my pump..Another cheap gift that I love is just cloth diapers that I use for burp clothes...I can't get enough of them!
