Crap. Freaking out.

In my car cleaning frenzy, I think I threw away my most recent pay stub and I need it to give my landlord, who is re-running our paperwork because our house is being redone and we don't want to be here while they're doing it, so they are moving us to a new house. Now I'm going to have to call my crazy ex-boss, who is treating me like I told her I was going to light the place on fire, to get a new one.

I am willing to bet she does something like refuse to give me one. If I'm really lucky, maybe she'll call my landlord and tell her I don't work there anymore and get us evicted before I find a new job. We are in such a sh!tty spot right now, all because I'm BFing and there are no laws to protect that in my state. I just had a pre-interview for a new job, but I still haven't heard back about an interview. It's only been a couple days, but I'm freaking out.

We're doing okay financially, but not great. We don't meet the minimum amount of money required to live here without my income. We were well over when I was working, but DH's income is like $100 a year short. I'm freaking out. I need to find a job like NOW but there isn't much available right now, especially with my availability being as limited as it is, since I have to work around DH and MIL's work schedules (so DD has a place to go while I'm at work.)

I just feel like sitting down and crying.

I'm so sorry!  Was the trash taken away?  Is there any way you can find it and look through it?  Not the best option, I know, but better than dealing with your old boss!

Trash was taken yesterday. I wish I'd thrown it away in the house, because DH almost always forgets to take out the trash and it would still be here, but I emptied everything straight into the big garbage.

Are you signing a new lease?  I would be really careful about signing a legal document stating you make an income that you no longer make.

We're not signing a new lease. They just re-verify everything. I don't know what else to do, unless I get a new job in the next couple days, we can't wait on a pay stub.

I posted before about my job - someone complained that I was getting 2 fifteen minute breaks to pump, so my boss wanted to take away my breaks (even though everyone else gets 1/2 hour lunch and I didn't, so it evened out) I said that wasn't going to work for me, so she told me I couldn't come back to work until we "figured out a solution." Then she said I could come back, but could only work as long as I could go without BFing per day (like 3 hours!) and people were being really hostile to me for fighting it, so I quit.

wtf!? that's outrageous! even though it's not protected, have you contacted la leche league? i would be telling everyone about that. it's just wrong to deny you're right to BF. i'm so sorry you're dealing with that...

I called the LLL and they told me that we're not protected by law - our laws ENCOURAGE employers to be BF-friendly and they aren't allowed to label themselves a "family friendly" business (in advertisements or whatever) unless they accommodate BFing moms. LLL offered to do a nurse-in, but I haven't really decided if I'm going to go that route or not.

did your coworkers get smoking breaks??  I bet no one threatens to take away smoking breaks.  that's ridiculous that they wouldn't work around pumping (I'm assuming you were pumping since you were working)  it's not like you were taking those breaks to sit there and play.

I HATE HATE HATE that WA does nothing to protect our rights as BFing mothers. Other states require that you provide a private room but our only states it's not indecent exposure?! I want to talk to LLL to see what we could do to change that law in WA.?
