Favorite dinner ideas?

I need some good ideas for dinners. We're tired of the same old stuff. What is your favorite dinner to make at home?

I love Mexican and Italian. DH likes Asian food a lot, especially anything with teriyaki sauce. He also likes fish, while I prefer chicken. We use ground turkey a lot, instead of ground beef.

  • Do you like Chicken Marsala? (italian). I have 2 diff amazing recipes for that.

You can see a pic of it on my FB. I see we are friends...go to my "Cooking Adventures" album and you can check it out.

  • I make a yummy white turkey chili, I also make Chicken marsala a lot.  Hmmm...what else...Pizza is a good go to - I make like 4 dough balls at once and freeze so I have them on hand.  We usually do turkey tacos once a week too.  Do you have a crockpot?  I have a few awesome crockpot recipes.  *Oh - and for fish (i'm not a huge fan) but I make a Broiled Tilapia Parmesan that's good.  Let me know if you want any recipes.

  • mmm they all sound good! I love chicken marsala and the turkey chili sounds great. DH would love the tilapia parmesean. And yes, we have a crockpot, I need to use it for more than meatballs.

Our go to meals are turkey tacos, DH makes some chicken with Asian sauces, spaghetti and Hamburger Helper.... :( LOL

Ok seriously...I just drooled through that entire album! And it started with my all time favorite sandwich!! I used to eat buffalo chicken po'boys all the time in college, pretty similar to your sandwich, but pressed like a pannini. No wonder you can't pick a favorite meal!

In your spare time, if you don't mind sharing your recipies, I'm interested in the buffalo chicken sub, fried green tomatos (love!), Mexican pizza, chicken with french fried onions, and the marsala ones. Ok really, any that you already have typed up because they all look delicious! My husband would loooove you! lol

  • I get a lot of recipes off of allrecipes.com.  I got the turkey chili and the tilapia from there, then I tweaked them on my own.  There's also a good Chicken and Dumplings crockpot recipe on there that I've done some major tweaking to.

The Chicken Marsala I make is really basic - I just bread the chicken breasts in whole wheat flour (DH doesn't know this...lol) and then cook the mushrooms.  Then combine and add 1/4 cup each of chicken broth (I'm sure water would work in a pinch) and marsala cooking wine.  Then I cook it down.

If there are any specific recipes you want send me a PM and I'll try to send them to you tomorrow!

  • Here are my weekly meals.  I'm a vegetarian, so they're all meat free (but still appealing to my carnivore husband).  DH loves the dumplings; he asks for it at least twice a week.  He even wanted it for breakfast yesterday (didn't happen).

    "chicken" and dumplings (tofu)
stuffed shells (mix mozzarella, riccotta, and an egg and stuff shells, bake in tomato sauce)
veggie pot pie (2 pie shells, can of mixed veggies, can of potato soup, cup of milk)
    stir fry tofu and veggies
veggie lasagna (white sauce with zuccini slices instead of pasta)
stromboli (pizza dough from Publix, stuffed with mozzarella and topping of choice)

  • We do beef or chicken tacos quite a bit...it helps that we all like them!  Also do fried chicken strips, DH loves them and never gets tired of them.
