paying baby sitters?

On the few occassions that we have needed a sitter we have been lucky enough to have family or godparents volunteer to keep them however we are thinking we would like to start doing a once a month date night so we are thinking we should hire sitters for this.  I have two 15 year olds that are friends of mine daughters and they play with the kids all the time who have been begging to baby sit and I think they would do great as a team.  What would you pay each of them?

Hmmm.  Maybe $7.50/hr each and round up at the end of the night.  I pay $10/hr for a college grad with nanny experience which I thought was reasonable, but maybe your area pays more.   When I was 15 I was always thrilled to get any amount of money since I didn't have a regular job.

We have a 15 year old family friend that watches the boys occassionally. She sometimes comes over early so she can watch them while I get ready or clean. If I'm here then we pay her $4/hr. When we leave then she is paid $8/hour.

I was thinking $4/kid but I thought I was being cheap so I am glad to hear that is what you would give too!  Thanks!
