XP: Blood in uterus, anyone else had/have this?

Good morning ladies! I hope you don't mind me posting/asking but I'm looking for any sorta hope out there for me. Here's a quick back story: I'm 5wks 4days post IUI. This past Friday I started bleeding (enough that I needed a pad - only one throughout the day though) I called my RE and I had an u/s this morning. Amazingly the sac is still there (and looks to be growing) but I have blood in/around(?) my uterus. The RE says it's what's caused me to have vaginal bleeding but some ladies have gone off to having healthy pregnancies. The bleeding has now stopped, but since she  could still see blood, she told me not to be surprised if I bled a little more throughout the week. I go back Friday to check if the pregnancy is still developing. They also drew my hCG, which is 7416 and progesterone is 34.4

Have any of you ladies experienced this? Google says "subchorionic hematoma" but my RE didn't use that term. Any experiences will be greatly appreciated!

TIA!

  • I had it this pregnancy and my last ultrasound still showed it at 8 weeks 3 days.

I haven't had bleeding since before 6 weeks.

So far, the baby is healthy and continues to progress.

  • I had bleeding / spotting a few days ago and my RE said it was perfectly normal. So I'm going with that. My beta was 7,000+ so I'm think there's two in there snuggling in : ) GL to you!

  • My sister recently had this around the 8th week of her pg. She was nervous but the u/s revealed a healthy baby. Her dr. assumed it was a ruptured cyst and there was still some old blood pooling in there after it burst. She bled (period like) and then spotted for a week or so.

GL and hope you're feeling better soon!

  • A lot of people have this and it is basically a SCH - no matter what language they use. My RE didn't say that either, but called it a blood pocket. Mine resolved itself and usually they do get reabsorbed or they bleed out. You can have a perfectly healthy pregnancy after this and tons of people do.

  • I had some severe cramping/bleeding around 6 weeks. I thought I was definitely miscarrying because of the combination of the two symptoms. However, the ultrasound revealed a healthy embryo with a HR of 90, and a large implantation bleed. A follow-up ultrasound at 7w1d revealed a FHR 144, so everything had continued to develop as it should however the bleed was still present but definitely subsiding. I have another ultrasound this week to make sure it is resolving. Blood in the uterus is actually quite common... usually caused by implantation (which doesn't only happen at conception- also occurs when the placenta develops). Some women simply reabsorb the bleed. Others experience minimal spotting. And others unfortunately bleed to the point of needing to go to the ER. It is usually nothing to worry about, which is hard if you continue to bleed, but its one of those things only time will tell how you end up.
