I can only speak from my own experience. My son's poop is the same way. His actually changes throughout the day. It'll start out yellow and seedy and then around 3pm, it'll start to change color to green and slimy. By the next morning, it'll be back to yellow and seedy. The dr didn't seem at all concerned about it, so I'm not going to stress.
i just read online it could be a dairy sensitivity and i should cut that out of my diet... what other foods are babies usually sensitive to that i should quit?
DS's poo was like that when I was BFing. I told the pedi and he said it was pretty normal. He didn't suggest I cut anything out of my diet, but I had also read it could be sensitivity to dairy. If she doesn't seem like she has an upset tummy, I wouldn't worry too much.
My DD has the same green stringy poop, but it's usually only when I eat dairy. I too have mentioned it to my pedi and she doesn't seem to think it's a big issue. I don't believe it makes her tummy upset so I just try to watch my dairy intake but I haven't cut out dairy all together.
I have heard it could be a hindmilk/foremilk imbalance. DD will have a green poo from time to time. My pedi said any color of the rainbow is fine except red, white or black. Her poop is usually yellow to orange.
DD has the same issue and my pedi also said it was fine. However, I noticed it occurs after I eat dairy (especially yogurt). She seems to be very gassy and grumpy when the poop turns green so I've tried to cut out most of the dairy in my diet with the exception of small amounts of cheese. I switched to Almond Milk for my cereal and I think it is making a difference in her tummy and I can see a physical change in her poop, too
