multiple non-related questions...

I haven't had much time on TB lately (only been reading other posts) and I have a bunch of questions, so I figured I would get them all out in one post.  Thanks for any help/advice you ladies can give, and sorry if these have already been answeed and talked about.

1. at what point do you no longer have to burp lo?

2. how do you know when it's time to get the next size diapers? (I know this sounds like it would be obvious, but size 1 seems to fit well, but h'es almost at the top of the weight limits on the packaging)

3. If you were BFing or pumping and stopped, how long did it take for you to get your period after you stopped?  How long did it take you to stop your body from making milk?

4. how do you know when it's time to introduce a sippy cup? (I know it's still early, but I'm just wondering)

 Thanks!

Re: multiple non-related questions...

  • 1. I am not sure. DD doesn't always need a burp, and if she falls asleep I just move her rather than wake her. So far so good with this method. 2. I moved DD from NB to size 1 before 10 lbs. She was filling the NB ones and there were red marks on her legs from the elastic. 3. I am EBF and AF has not returned. This one I think is individual to every person. 4. I think when are able to hold it and drink from it.

  • 1. My lo yaks like no tomorrow so I will prob be burping him forever, hopefully when he is starting solids though his digestive system is more developed and he wont need me to do it. 2. We use cloth so I dont know abput disposable sizes but if you are having marks or leakage then I would think time to move up. 3. Not sure, we ebf and no af yet. 4. I'm thinking around 9 months but I will wait and see what the pedi or the rest of the bump girls say.

    2.  the bag has a weight limits on it so we just went by that.  at first they may seem big because youre used to the smaller diapers.  we're on size 2 pampers but will prbly go to size 3 in a few wks.

3.stopped bf at 2 wks and got my period at 6 wkspp.  it took about a wk of slowly weaning from pumping to dry my milk.

    1. at what point do you no longer have to burp lo?  I think when they start sitting on their own is when it's not as vital to burp them.

    2. how do you know when it's time to get the next size diapers? (I know this sounds like it would be obvious, but size 1 seems to fit well, but h'es almost at the top of the weight limits on the packaging)  We moved up from NB to size 1 when they started looking small and the tabs were further apart.  They also seemed to be shorter on her.

    3. If you were BFing or pumping and stopped, how long did it take for you to get your period after you stopped?  How long did it take you to stop your body from making milk?  I stopped pumping 4 weeks ago yesterday and still no AF.  I think it took a little over a week to stop leaking on a regular basis.  I would still leak a little at times.

    4. how do you know when it's time to introduce a sippy cup? (I know it's still early, but I'm just wondering)  I agree with the 9 months, but I'd say whenever you are comfortable with it.

     Thanks!

  • 1. at what point do you no longer have to burp lo?..........not sure about this one....my LO is almost 12 wks and we still burp him...they'll be times we'll move him or whatever and he'll burp on his own...good question...sorry not much help on this one

2.how do you know when it's time to get the next size diapers?....I really don't go by the weight on them...I mean it's been pretty dead on but still try not to do the weight thing...we just moved LO in size 2's last week....his size 1's still fit but we had a couple leaks & the front of the diaper was getting low (if that makes sense)...size 2's were much better...they may look big but they work better for us anyways....

3.If you were BFing or pumping and stopped, how long did it take for you to get your period after you stopped?  How long did it take you to stop your body from making milk?............well I EBF'd for 6 weeks and now I pump only and AF showed up this week....and started BC 2 wks ago......so I think everyone is different on this

    4. how do you know when it's time to introduce a sippy cup?.....going to ask my pedi about this one later down the road but like other people have said...I think 9 months seems about right...idk though
