What a biiiitch. Here in our house we are more concerned about those in the power plants (though the rest of it is pretty interest peaking and horrendously sad as well). DH works at a nuke plant and so we have been monitoring the status of those guys for the last several hours. It hits a little closer to home for us on that spectrum and what happens there could greatly affect his job in a round about sort of way.

And it hits home for DH because he was there in Indonesia for months (he was in the Navy) to help after the tsunami. He saw some pretty horrific things there and this brings a lot of that up for him.

Not really. How could you really defend that. But her responses were:

I have not crawled under any rock nor will there be any DD. I was not responding because my son needed a bath and a bottle. You may think I'm heartless, disturbed, and possibly many other things but I could not care less about that either. I've already seen 10+ friends posting those stupid text things about donating $10 to Japan. I'm sorry but where were those texts when I lost my house and my dog to hurricane Charlie? I donated money to Katrina and I cried during 9/11. I stand by what I said, I could not care less about this earthquake. So you all can ride off on your high horses and have a fantastic day! I just have the balls to say what a lot of people wont.

I never said I don't care because they aren't Americans. I cared about Hati although I did get tired of hearing about that after about a week or so. Japan has a way better economy than we do so they can fix this crap without our money.

Wow. It has nothing to do with how much money a country has. Something like that would wipe out any country. Its about having a heart for people in need.

oh my gawsh. what an idiot. I mean.. being 100% honest I could see not particularly caring and changing the channel with they're covering it for the 100th time... but to say or feel like you "couldn't care less" ... she needs to reevaluate.
