I ADORE the name Leo and I don't see that becoming a huge problem. Honestly I have never met another Oliver, and although Audrey seems to be really popular, I've never met an Audrey either!! I am also a substitute teacher so I come across alot of names and I live in a huge city..
According to the SS website, it has jumped 200 spots in the past 10 years. So it started in the 400's and is now (2009) in the 200's. That is not "popular" really. but if you want to avoid the maybe's I usually look for names that are going down in the trends rather then up.
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. I really like Audrey BTW.

I don't take one single minute for granted.
I would say Leo is a risky choice for rising popularity. Rumous has it that it's the name of Javier Barderm and Penelope Cruz's son, so if that every gets confirmed it's going to skyrocket even more.
Thanks I really love the name and want to got with it. I'm thinking Leo Edward after my father. We are still in negotiations for middle names and girl names.
I have a 4 year old nephew named Leo. As far as I know my sister has never run into another Leo. I absolutely love his name (he is named after my grandfather) and it just suits him so perfectly. I think it goes really well with your other kids names too. Go for it. It might rise slightly, but I don't see it being in the top 50 anytime soon.
I could see Leo being the next Henry/Hank. It's got that old man feel to it and I've seen it a lot on these boards and a few IRL as well. I love it and I obviously don't think it will ever be a Brayden/Hayden/Kayden type thing, but if you really want obscure I'd look for something moving down the charts.

Leo has a good chance of getting very popular. Among my urban, liberal, educated neighbors (the same people using Oliver), Leo is a rising star. In other words, if Max is the new Jack, Leo is the new Max.
I think it's a good match for Oliver and Audrey, though. In 2000, Oliver was #305, now it is #98. In 2009, Audrey was #77, now it is #49. Leo is currently #209 (up from #390 in 2000) ? I can definitely see it breaking into the top 100 in the next 5 years.

I agree!

I actually would put Leo in the same category (popularity wise) as Audrey and Oliver, sorry but I do love it and it does go well. I just see that it is going to gain popularity but in the same way as Oliver, it will be more seen but not crazy popular either.
I feel like Leo could definitely become popular. A lady I work with just named her son Leo (after her husband). What about Griffin? That is a cool name that's not too popular.
Yes, name experts predict that Leo will continue to rise in popularity because it's part of the "O" trend. Owen, Otto, Milo, Olivia, etc. are all rising in popularity. BUT, that being said, I love Leo and I think it sounds great with your other 2 kids names! None of the 3 names will ever be overly popular (like, top 20) IMO.
Hmm. Well, I worry about this too. I have known people with your other children's names as well as two Leo's already (but one is in his 30's and the other is elderly). I'd say if you absolutely don't want a popular name do what pp's said... look for names trending downward.
I think Leo will gain popularity, but not to the extent that Oliver and Audrey have. Oliver, Audrey, and Leo is a PRECIOUS sibset!
