I love when television shows have episodes about IF.  I mean, yeah they make it sound simply and everything but I just like the idea that there are main stream showing  Like Greys, Friends, HIMYM, etc. talking about it.   I know that some ladies don't like them, but am I the only one?

I agree! Even though it's WAY off from how it really works, I like that it is being made more 'public'.

But then again, as an infertile you are way too familiar with what is fact & what is fiction while Great Aunt Irene  or Cousin Bertha have no clue & think you find out if IVF works in 5 mins a la "Friends".

I do when it is done right.....Sometimes all certain shows do is perpetuate the stereotypes that we work so hard to try to educate people in our lives about. Like that we just need to relax and adoption is really easy.etc. Yes, I know it is tv but some people have a tough time with tv vs. reality

My DH says that we are trend setters everytime he sees a show about IF. LOL All of a sudden it is "in style" to have fertility problems.

I def wouldn't flame you for this, but I disagree. I think it's mostly b/c I watch tv to escape my reality, so it bugs me to see IF stuff everywhere. And when you have craziness like a dog eating someone's frozen eggs out of a cooler -- I don't find it funny. But I can see the point about bringing mainstream attention to the issue.

Bleep my Dd said. It was sick and disgusting. And then the girl got pregnant the next month. The eggs were from her boss, she was giving them to her.

Oh...I tried watching the 1st epi of that and was annoyed by it. I'm glad I didn't see that! FFS. That is horrifying. Does anyone realize you can't see an egg very easily?
