Follow-up to circ recommendation

Just wanted to follow up to my previous post asking for a recommendation for circumcision since we did a home birth and therefore did not have the hospital option available to us. 

We ended up going with Dr. McDermott at Anne Arundel Urology as we live in Anne Arundel County so he was the closest to us of the recommendations listed.  He was absolutely wonderful, and I would highly recommend him and his urology practice.  The staff was friendly and caring.  

We had our initial consultation and exam two Tuesdays ago, and the surgery was yesterday.  It was quick, Dr. McDermott was so friendly and engaging, and our son was only crying yesterday.  Today he is back to his normal cheerful routine and the swelling is already almost gone.

Thanks to everyone who made their recommendations.  Oh, and Dr. Mcdermott asked how I had heard about him, and I said "the baltimore baby list serve I am on" - so to Mrs. remy, who recommended him in the first place, if you are ever at his office again - you might want to let him know you are recommending him - I bet he would appreciate knowing his patients are so pleased with him that he gets additional business because of it.  I am a licensed health care practitioner myself, and the absolute best compliment is knowing that one of my patients recommended me to others.

He is our neighbor- and a super nice guy. We see a fair amount of him at the pool in the summer.

He is a great guy and I am so glad you had a good experience! DS actually had to be circ'd under general anesthesia because he had a slight urinary tract birth defect. I was a total wreck and he was so calming and reassuring and gave DS and I both a big hug when it was over. I met another mom in his waiting room whose son had to have kidney surgery at 3 months old and she said the very same things....she told me not to worry as we would be in very good hands!
