1st Trimester

If you were charting and know when you O'd...

did LO measure exactly to the day on your first u/s?  Or was it a little off and by how much?

My u/s was 4 days off from what I calculated with my ovulation date.  My OB said not to worry about it.  But with my first pregnancy, the baby measured exactly to the day, which I thought was pretty fascinating.

  • I wasn't charting, but was on a medicated and monitored cycle with the RE. So we triggered ovulation.

She was always at least three days ahead, and now is consistently a week ahead.

  • Haven't had an ultrasound this time around, but last time my 20-wk u/s due date was two days off from the one I came up with based on ovulation.  Since they're both just estimates anyways, it didn't really matter to me.

  • At my fist u/s the doctor told me that the baby was measuring 2 days older than I thought. I still think that I am right. Smile

  • At the dating ultrasound the baby was measuring to the day. Then the next one a day behind. The 10 week one two days ahead and this week's three days ahead.

  • I measured 3 days behind when I O'd based on my FF chart. From what I understand it's pretty normal for there to be some variance, especially early on. try not to worry!

  • From what I understand babies hit "growth spurts" at different times, so you may be a day or two behind now, but catch up later in your pregnancy.

I have my first ultrasound next Monday, so I'm interested to see how my O date lines up with the size of the baby.

  • Yup.  I had my first u/s yesterday.  My ticker is based on my O date (had a trigger shot and IUI) and when I went in yesterday at 5w5d, I measured 5w1d.  They were a little concerned but nothing major so they took a beta and we'll repeat everything next Wednesday and see how my LO is doing then.

  • I was exactly on point, but my body is super regular. I am 27 days to the T for like years.
  • Mine was exactly on. I O on day 14 and thats exactly how my little critter measured.
  • I am measuring right on target with the day I O'd.

  • I'm very certain of when I O'd because I was charting.  My U/S on Monday put the peanut at a few days ahead of that date, but I still think my O date was right and I think my midwife will continue to use it because I don't want to be considered overdue before I actually am.

  • Mine measured exactly to the day where it should based on when I O'd, which was one day behind what my OB said based on LMP.

  • No, at my dating u/s he was measuring 2 days behind.  However, by my u/s three weeks later, he'd sped up by 5 days.

  • I was curious about the same thing and was happy to find out yesterday at my 1st u/s yesterday that I was only 1 day behind from the day I thought I O'd.  Charting with BBT and CF tracking proved to be very valuable.

  • As far as I know, yes. The RE didn't say that I wasn't.

  • I was charting and measured 2 days behind what I had thought based on my chart. But from my understanding a bit of variation can be normal.

  • Yes, I was measuring behind by 1 or 2 days. FF thinks I O'd on CD15, but I was traveling until the night before, so think that may have caused an early temp spike, especially since I got my +OPK on CD15. Plus my temps from CD17 on matched my post-O temp "history" so to speak.

The embryo is just so incredibly small at that point that it's easy for the dates to be a little off if the doc doesn't put the little measurement x right in the perfect place. I have to say though, I'm glad to know others had this experience.

  • I was charting and know when I O'd.  I had my ultrasound yesterday at 8 weeks and the baby measured 2 days ahead.  With my DS, the first ultrasound at 7 weeks measured 1 day ahead.
