DH is interviewing for a job today that would be 3pm to midnight, Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays. I work 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. DH would most likely not see me or DS during the week, unless he keeps him home from daycare a couple days a week. The issue with that would be finding care from 2:30ish to whenever I could pick DS up.
How do you make opposite shifts work?
ETA: I realize this is all hypothetical, seeing as though it's just an interview. However, it's for the same company I work for, in a department I used to work in. He would be a great fit for them and he has a pretty good chance of getting hired.
Re: If you & DH work opposite shifts, please come in.
I liked it as far as taking care of B because I work 8-4 and he did 2-11. He was able to get up with her, take his time getting her ready and giving her breakfast and then he'd take her in. When I was trying to save $$$ I asked daycare if I can have her start at 12pm instead of 9am so we were able to save money.
Sucks as far as seeing eachother during the week but B and I had our own little routine and I'd usually wait up so I can see DH for a short time.
I work M-R 8-6
DH works T,R, F, Sa, Su, from 1-930 usually
So we need care T/R only
We use a stay at home mom for a sitter and DS goes from 11-6 on T/R
DH takes him a little earlier so he can eat lunch and take a nap over there, and he has an extra hour to clean/relax before work.
We pay our sitter $40 a day, and he is usually only awake half that time.
