BPP & NST

I have my 1st appt for a Biophysical Profile and Non stress test tomorrow morning. My son was 9 days late so I had 2 NSTs with him but never a BPP. From what I've googled it seems like a BPP is pretty much just another ultrasound... am I missing something?

Yes it is pretty much an ultrasound but much more detailed. I had them weekly sometimes 2 times a week when i was pregnant with the twins.

It's just an u/s in combination with an NST, but they look for specific things. They measure pockets of amniotic fluid, check for breathing movements, muscle tone, and body movements. Each baby gets a score (I think it's out of 8). They just want to make sure the babies are still thriving inside or if it's time to think about delivering.

My last NST 2 days before my scheduled Csection, Baby B would not cooperate, so they sent me for a BPP. They gave each baby I think it was 20 min if needed to practice breathing 3 times, move 3 times and they looked at fluid. I was done in like 20 min total. It was just like ultrasound but they didnt measure baby parts just looked for certain things.
