Worried about my baby...

My 2 m/o is having what I feel very strongly is a reaction to the DTaP she got (the only vax she has had).  I posted on Dr. Sears' website & he responded that he thinks I am right in suspecting a vax reaction.  Wondering what other people think (I know my dr. is going to tell me today that it is unrelated):
The day after receiving the shot, she began having diarrhea.  That lasted a week, followed by another week of no pooping at all.  Then, 2 weeks after getting the shot, she had a horrible screaming episode - uncontrollable screaming for several hours.  After a suppository & pooping, she calmed, but then the same thing happened the next day.  The 3rd day she was very weepy & easily upset, but not as bad.  Those 3 nights she slept 12 hours straight (not like her at all).  Then she slowly started to get back to herself, but started pooping frequently again like diarrhea.  Then she went 1 day without pooping & the next day had another screaming episode (at this point it was 3 weeks post-vax).  That was yesterday.  Today she has blood in her stool.  We have an appt. with the pedi tonight but I am very worried about my baby & feel it is vax-related.  Also, the day after the 1st screaming episode I cut all milk protein out of my diet, and 1 week later she still had another episode & blood in stool (she is breastfeeding).
Is 2 weeks an unreasonable amount of time for the screaming to be related?  I feel it isn't, especially since the diarrhea started right away, and it seems to be continual GI problems rather than an isolated episode

Re: Worried about my baby...

  • I am not sure if it is vax related or not. I just want to wish you well and let you know I am thinking of y'all. Good luck at the pedi and let us know.
