get a CZ wedding set until I have the baby?
My rings didn't fit after DS, and I sort of forced them back on. I've been wearing them for almost 18 months this way, and they never bothered me until last night when my finger really hurt and turned red. I am prone to early swelling (lucky me!) and I had to force my engagement ring off with olive oil. My wedding band is still on, but it will have to come off by force soon too.
I just feel weird chasing a toddler with a pregnant belly and no wedding ring. I know a lot of people have kids who aren't married, and I have no issue with that. However, I am married, and I feel strange without them. Is this as idiotic as it sounds?
Re: Is it ridiculous to...
I think it's a great idea. It is such a shame you have to deal with finger swelling, I'm sorry. A colleague of mine did this early on when she could not wear her wedding rings any more. She got a $30 CZ ring to wear so that she could still have something on her wedding finger. It certainly would be important to me!
If I experience any finger swelling that makes my wedding rings to tight, I would definitely get something to wear instead.
I have heard that some women wear their wedding rings on a chain for their pregnancy, but this is not so obvious as having a ring on your wedding finger.
I say go for it. It's not rediculos at all!
hugs x
Not ridiculous at all. If it makes you more comfortable, go for it!
I had to take my wedding set off a few months before my daughter was born. Since it was close to Christmas my DH bought me a simple wedding band a few sizes bigger to wear until my set fit again. I've already switched to it this pregnancy. I just feel so naked without a ring on after wearing one for years!

Thanks for all the input! Glad I wasn't just being pregnant and crazy...
I have a family stone for my engagement ring, and its round. If I was getting my own stone I'd have preferred a pear shape, so I guess I can get myself a fake one! Win, win, right?
If my hands swell, I am going to do this. Macy's has some nice ones that I don't think will turn my finger green
But they are only like $20.
You might as well get a huuuge stone while you are at it
ETA: to get a ring off your finger, Windex works wonders. That's what jewelers use.
