I think the hardest thing is that the sellers get first dibs on all the items, so sometimes they can be a bit picked-over by the time you are allowed to browse...

Ok clue me in lol..what is the MoM sale about, and its something done locally that you have to drive to, not an online sale? I'm sure there aren't any in my area but am curious!
I've saved HUNDREDS in the 3 sales I've gone to (probably over $1000 honestly). At ours, the WORKERS get to shop first. I've worked the last 2 sales (out of 3) and I'm not working the next b/c I only need clothes, and I like shopping with DH.
We have about 150 members in our local MoM club. The pre-sale is on Friday night where if you are a current due-paying member, you can shop at the sale on Friday night. Many people join the club just for the sales as the club fee is only $25/year
Then on Saturday morning, it is open to the public. The sale starts around 9:00am and people start lining up really early.
I think its worth it. I can get sleepers for $1/piece. That alone is worth it in my book.
They are definitely worth it. When I was pregnant I volunteered for a shift (sitting down checking people in) just so I could shop the presale. We got almost everything we needed for much less than retail.
Even if you can't make the presale, I still think there is enough stuff left for the general sale (at least in our MoM sale) to make it definitely worth it.
Re: Multiples Sales
