1st Trimester

Morning sickness VENT..ugh!

so morning sickness has kicked in.. I kinda knew it would, I had it so bad with my twins, that I was in and out of the hospital for hydration drips and on zofran for 5 months, I was just hoping, that I would get one pregnancy that I could enjoy. Granted so far, its not nearly as bad as it was when was expecting my twins.

I tend to be "sick" til about noon, but im not vomitting, which is good since thats all I did the first time. After noon, that awful feeling of "i think im gonna barf" gets better and I can actually function. My problem is even when I am feeling better, I still cant eat, nothing sounds good.. i try forcing myself to eat something, but can only take a couple bites and then im done. Im trying to force myself to drink, but sometimes thats hard too..

For those of you in the same boat as me what are you doing to help this???

I havent had my first appt yet, but think im around 7 weeks along.. its going to be a long one if its like this the whole time!

 Thanks!!!

  • Sorry to hear you are having such a rough time!

My m/s has just kicked in too. It's no fun. I'm just trying to have small snacks throughout the day and force water down.

  • Mine has kicked in too.  I had issues similar to yours t/o my first pregnancy (literally until DD was delivered).  I'm praying that it will not be as bad.

The two things that have helped so far are small meals & small sips of liquid t/o the day and sleeping in.  If I relax in bed for about 20 minutes after bed it makes a big difference.  Since I have a 2y/o that is hit or miss, but I've noticed it helps when I can do it.

  • I'm an all-dayer.  Sick from when I wake up 'til I go to bed. Wasn't like this at all with DS.  Zofran is my friend.  Things that have helped (albeit short term fixes):

    Ginger gum
    Sea Bands
    Good n Plenty's
Prego pops (at babies r Us)
    Jolly Ranchers
    Salty Potato chips (nurse recommended)
Stool softener (because I can't eat and feel more sick if I'm constipated)
    Pineapple juice
    Rootbeer
    Sleep

  • The thought of food grosses me out a lot, throughout the day.  Like you, no vomiting, thank goodness, I just don't feel good.  This didn't start until 2 weeks ago.  I'm praying it goes away in a month.

  • I have no suggestions for you, but I wish I did! I am sick all day. The only time I feel good is in the morning...go figure...

I hope you feel better soon!

  • I had all day sickness with my son.  The only thing that worked was some sort of pregnancy/seasickness watch, that emitted electrical pulses that tricked my stomach into not being nauseous.  That thing was worth every penny.

  • I have good days and bad days.  Today was the first day I came home sick from work.  I just felt sick and tired.  I try to eat small meals during the day but it feels like all I am doing is eating.  Think I might look into the Sea Bands and see if that helps. I am leaving for vacation in 2 weeks and am really hoping I have a good day the dates I am flying.

  • I went and got the sea bands last night, I figured for 12 bucks it was worth a shot. I wore them to bed and suprisingly woke up this morning and felt good! A little upset stomach when I first woke up, but I feel great now, actually look human today.

I dont know if it is mental or if these stupid bands are actually helping! They are not cute at all, and since I havent told anyone at work that I am expecting again,I have to try and hide them under a long sleeve shirt, which is difficult since I live in AZ and its already in the mid 80's but i would much rather be hot than sick!

Thanks so much for all the suggestions, hope you all feel better soon too!
