1st Trimester

Cramping... 21 and first baby... HELP

Is this normal?  I made my first Dr. appointment for this Friday because I'm SO worried.  No blood or anything, just period cramps.  I'm only 5 weeks along according to a chart... but I might be further along because I'm already getting morning sickness.

I might just be freaking out for no reason, but it is my first baby and I am just so happy about it.  I feel like I need to do everything right.

  • Cramping can be normal in the first few weeks, but if you see blood, I'd call.  Congrats!  And morning sickness can really kick in at any time...

  • Cramping can be completely normal.  I had cramping through out 1st tri and well into 2nd tri with DD.  Hardly any this time around.  It surprised me with DD because no one ever mentions about the cramps.

  • Im just about 6 weeks and I have had mild to moderate cramping since I found out I was pregnant. It was pretty consistant for a while but now it comes and goes and seems more prodominant when I am stressed out or something. Ive read and hear it is normal so I wouldnt worry, as long as you arnt bleeding! Congrats! :)
  • EDIT. Wrong board.

  • As the other ladies have said, cramping is completely normal. Unless there is blood accompanied with it. As for the morning sickness, it can start at any time, my dear!

OP, go to the 1st trimester board; they'll have more information and support for you.  I wish you and your baby well.

    This is first tri haha.

  • I had cramping that felt like AF was about to show when I found out I was pregnant. I continued to have cramping on and off for several weeks. I want to say maybe up until 12 weeks. I think I even had it after that, but rarely.

I did not not have any trouble during my PG and I have a healthy 8 month old LO.

It is completely normal - don't worry!

Remember when the sound of little feet was the music we danced to week to week? Brought back the love, we found trust; vowed we'd never give it up. Remember when?
  • Cramping is normal because your uterus is expanding and growing already (sometimes causing cramps). If you notice any blood though you should definitely call your doctor.

    ::dies::   Bahahahaha!!!

  • Yep, I think you're just freaking out for no reason!  :)  That's ok though, a lot of first time moms freak out.

Cramping is completely normal.  When I was only a few weeks along, I felt a lot of cramping also.  Your uterus is already starting to stretch (it's only the size of a fist!)

5 weeks is pretty normal for MS to begin.

  • I have had cramping since before I found out I was pregnant! No worries though its completely normal.
