NBR: Absentee voting

Have you received your absentee ballot yet?

We haven't and DH is getting ready to leave on Sunday and will be gone for nine weeks!

He's finally going to Ranger School but he won't be able to vote if the ballot doesn't come before he leaves!

I'd hate for him not to be able to vote because he's in training to be a better soldier for his country!

We live 6 hours away from the county where we're registered to vote (hence the absentee voting), so he can't just go and request a ballot before he leaves.

Any ideas?

    call your local elections office. they are usually at town hall.

    Hmm, I replied to this but I don't see my original reply. Odd.

    Anyway, here in Maryland, you can pick one up from the board of elections. Perhaps you can check the website to see if that is an option in your area.

    My husband (Army) is heading out tomorrow so we are going down to pick it up today. :(

    Nothing like waiting until the last minute!

    But we CAN'T go to our local elections office because we're not permanent residents here and are maintaining our residence and voters registration in FL... 6 hours away.
