I'm contemplating buying them. Thanks!

Re: Poll: Did Sea Bands work for you?

  • Sea Bands worked great for my second pregnancy, but I didn't have any luck with my 3rd. With this pregnancy, my 4th, they seemed to work some days, but not all. I would say all in all they are definitely worth a shot!

  • Thank you. I spotted them at Walgreen's and the worker lady actually talked me out of them, saying they didn't work for her. I assume that they work for some, but not for all. I think I might give them a try no matter what in the next few days. If I keep my receipt, at least I can return them if they don't work.

  • They took the edge off, especially in the beginning of my pregnancy. But the further I got into my first trimester, the less they worked.

  • (Hubby) Just bought them Sunday for me... I've been wearing them pretty much around the clock and it really has helped me.  I still get queasy occasionally but it takes the worst out of it... I spend all weekend on the couch because I couldn't move without fearing I was going to throw up.

    Worth a shot IMO!

  • They were great for me the few weeks I was really nauseated.  I didn't like the indentation on my wrist from the pressure ball thing, but it was worth it.

Also, if you aren't wearing long sleeves, they are impossible to camouflage. Just something to keep in mind if people don't know you're pregnant.

  • They helped me if my nausea was very mild, otherwise they didn't help.

  • They worked for my last pregnancy. This pregnancy they aren't doing much if anything at all. I am still wearing them though out of fear m/s will get worse if I don't.

  • They are helping... but Zofran is still needed.

Nope, not one bit. They did bruise my teeny little wrists, though.

  • They helped but I wouldn't say it cured me of my morning sickness when I wore them. Still, I would do just about anything to help with the m/s and would suggest them to others!

  • Yes, I loved them. The only time they didn't work was for the more severe morning sickness, but for the constant nausea they worked GREAT!!!

  • They helped a little bit during the worst of it, but they certainly were not a cure-all.  If you're miserable, I would try it.  I tried everything - you never know what will work for you!  Good luck!

  • Not only did they not work, but they started hurting my wrists after a while.  Because of the little button thing that pushes in.

  • Yes, but my nausea was never very strong, just aggravating.

  • For me they were a waste of money.  Having anything around my wrists/neck made me even more nauseous.   Time was the only thing that worked and the sickness still comes and goes.

B6 was probably the best thing I took.  The doctor never prescribed me anything, just said it was healthy that I felt that way.  It made for some very tough days.

Now I am at a point where I feel about 90% most days, with some days down to about 50%.  Just drinking plenty of fluids and eating enough made it 10 times better.  I was having trouble eating and drinking because of the way I was feeling.  Try to make sure you are drinking plenty of fluids, I have heard more than one person say that helps.

  • They have helped me.  There were a few days where I still took a zofran, but I'm actually still wearing them because they balance me out.
  • They are a proven placebo for morning sickness. Which is still good, if they make people feel better.
