?? Professional Baby Pictures

When did you get your first professional pictures? I'm thinking I should wait until she can hold her head up on her own. Do you recommend any chains for portraits (i.e. BRU, JCP, Sears etc) ??

We had one month pictures done at the Picture People and we are going to get 6 month pictures done in November. We just did our own pictures for 3 months. But we will do pro ones at 6, 9 and 1 year and than from there just every year.

We had our first pro pics done when DD was 12 days old because we used them for our birth announcements.

We actually went to a place called Portrait Innovations b/c someone gave us a gift card. I'm pretty sure it was a chain. The B&W in siggy was one and this was another:

We got our 1st ones done at 3.5 months which I thought was a good time.  She could hold her own head up and it was easy to get her to smile for the camera.  Also love the shots of her pushing herself up from her belly.  I kind of wish we had gotten newborn shots but everything was just so busy at that time.

We had a photographer come to the house to take newborn photos when she was 5 days old.

We first took her to Picture People when she was 3 months.

We did our first pro pix at 3 months, we had them done at the Picture People. They did a great job, we will go back for 6,9 and 12 also.

We've taken her every month since she was born.  We go to JCP and use their coupons, that's the only reason we can afford to take her that often.  When she couldn't hold her head up they put her in this little basket and took pics that way. 

I'm really glad we've taken her so often for pics, it's fun to see how much she's grown.

We did the first ones at 3 months- they're in my siggy.  Our photographer recommends getting them done at 3 months, 6 months (or waiting until baby can sit up unsupported), and 1 year (or when baby walks).

My pro photog reco'ed ASAP pics.  So we took her at 8 weeks, which was the soonest we could go, based on schedules.  She took lots of Anne Geddies-esque shots that require/work better when baby falls asleep, is more malleable, etc.  The older they get the more they shoot out their limbs, wave them around, are more alert, etc.  See sigpic w/ flower.

I just did Jack's yesterday, but I wish I would have done them between 1-2 weeks because when they get older they don't like to tuck their legs under them if you lay them on their belly. ?So you miss out on the cute little round butt photos b/c they like to stretch their legs now. ?But if you don't care about that... then whenever you want really.

We did our first pro pics when DS was 2 weeks.  I used them for the birth announcements.  I plan on doing 6 month pictures within the next couple weeks.

I think we will get professional ones done in a few weeks when he is three months. I have done some unprofessional photo shoots myself, but now that he can smile and hold his head its time to get a professional one done.

We got his first done at one month at the Picture People.  LOVED them and plan to go back every month!
