For about a week now, DD is getting increasingly difficult to put to sleep at night. She squirms and kicks and fights like she never has before. But she's not crying. And she is tired and ready to go to bed--but not overtired.
She also hasn't had night wakings in a LONG time, but now, for the first 2 or so hours after I put her to sleep, I have to keep going in b/c she keeps waking up. The only way she'll stay asleep is if i put my hand over her stomach/diaper area and literally weight her down so she don't wake herself up by kicking. If I lift my hand, she starts moving again and wakes up.
Whats up with this? We haven't changed anything. Its not a preview of the 4 month wakeful is it?
I'm not really too concerned about "fixing" it b/c it's probably just a normal stage, but if there is something I can do about it, I'm all for it.
Re: What's up with DD?
MrsFrenchy - I could have written your post. DD does the same thing and it's really only been the last week or so. She used to be a great sleeper at night, but now she fights us tooth & nail with her whole body, though she is clearly exhausted. She is also waking a lot during the night, when previously was STTN or waking only once. I do the same thing, put my hand on her legs because otherwise they're kicking up!
I don't have an answer but it's good to know I'm not alone. I am hoping this is just a phase, but it did occur to me maybe it was an early 4-month wakeful? Or a preview of it?
Fun times, eh?
*Sigh*
they were born on the same day. weird.
I know - maybe they have some cosmic connection and have agreed that that they don't want to sleep anymore. DD is much more alert than ever before, and is horrible about napping b/c she doesn't want to miss anything. I was thinking that had something to do with it - she just isn't interested in sleeping, there is too much to look at.
