Sea Bands for M/S?

Anyone use them with success?  I thew up last night after 4 days of nausea 24hrs/day and have been feeling nauseous all day today.

Tums, ginger ale, & everything that helped with my first are NOT cutting it!  DH is going to the grocery later... should I bother with Sea-Bands?

  • I've never tried them, but they didn't seem to work for my sister.

  • I tried them but they didn't help much. I have pretty severe morning sickness though, even Zofran doesn't help a lot.
I'd say give it a try. They aren't that expensive and I have heard some other members say they had success with them.

  • Have them and love them, as have many people on these boards. They are $8, so give them a try.  Some places, like Target, keep them behind the pharm counter, so if your H has trouble finding them, make sure he asks someone.

  • They helped me immensely.  I have still gotten sick while wearing them, but they help take away the feeling of nausea and motion sickness.

  • I used them with inconclusive results. My m/s was bad for about a week. If I get it again, I'll give them a shot again.  What seemed to work best was tea with ginger sprinkled in it. I also got some fresh ginger and boiled it in water for about 20 min. Made a kind of tea.

  • I use them and I think they work.  They don't get rid of the morning sickness completely, but they take the "edge" off so at least I can function.

You have to make sure they are positioned on your wrists correctly (there are directions in the package) - I have small wrists, so they always seem to migrate down farther than they should, so I have to reposition them a lot.

  • I've had great luck with them on a boat, and a girlfriend of mine had great success with them in 1st tri.  Try 'em - if you're already getting super sick, what's the harm in trying?  GL!

  • Wearing them for 24hrs now... Don't know if they help or if it's the ginger/Zofran/bands combo.

I figured they were worth a try.
