Take along Thomas Question

Does anyone make extra track for Take Along Thomas?  I have a few sets, but would love some extra track.  DS really likes it, and I like that it is easy to set up and take down.  It doesn't have to be made by Fisher Price, just compatible. Also, if you have a set that you really like, which one is it?

Thanks!

Is that the same as the Take and Play stuff?  We have some of that.  L says we have "Percy's take and play, moooooooooom."

  • I don't know of another brand that is compatible, but I have seen little tubs of extra track at TRU and Walmart, and often at Marshalls.

ETA:  it was the same as what R9 posted - and Yikes! that's expensive.   When I've seen it, I think it was $10 at Marshalls and $15 at TRU/Walmart.

  • My aunt bought the boys a huge set of the Take Along tracks from Costco to keep at my parents' house.  Honestly, that stuff is so much harder to use when building a track than the wooden tracks.  They keep coming apart, and you have to get the angles exactly right.  With the wooden tracks, there's a bit of flexibility at each of the joints, so it's easier to connect two parts of a track with whatever pieces you have left, if that makes sense.

We have the wooden one too, and they are great, but DS is not quite two and we don't have a place for the train table until he is out of the crib, so putting together the 200 pieces of the wood one to have any sort of fun layout is a payout.

I think what I need is Take-n-play instead of take along.  We have some of both, but they have to have adapters to work together, which would be a pain for the extra track to have different configurations.
