Quick recap-- went on a group interview and didn't mentioned my pregnancy but didn't hid it either (told not to reveal any personal info due to being a group interview too). A week later a got an email with the job offer. I posted here how to tell them, and I got blasted for "hiding" and being "dishonest" during my interview, many mentioned as an employer they would not like to hire me train me then having to find a temporary replacement (not all posters were as harsh
)....
So I emailed him and I basically said "you may have noticed I'm pregnant, should I call you or come in to discuss this?" he emailed back saying no worries doesn't affect in anything, when you are ready to stop working yo leave, when you are ready to return you return, we only ask that you give us a notice of how many weeks you'll be out and we won't penalize you for taking unpaid time off (since I won't have accrued any paid time off) he even said I may come back on a part time basis or make my own schedule. ![]()
Re: Update: "hired, how do I tell them I'm prego"....
What a relief for you! Congrats!
ditto
I don't really think most of the people that were flaming you understand that not every job is a 9-5 office gig.

Congrats! That is really great to hear.
I remember your original post. I was very surprised by the number of commenters who mentioned this idea of 'dishonesty' or that your employer would be upset with you.
I think it may be a bit taboo up here in Canada to suggest that an employer should be upset that you are pregnant, or that it is dishonest. At least I've never heard of it or encountered this attitude - and I took two new jobs just days before I found out. This may be due to the parental benefits that the government provides here, but I strongly disagree that you were dishonest or that you had any reason to be criticized for your actions.
I'm very glad to hear that they are treating you with respect - that's wonderful - but for myself, I would have been appalled at anything less.
