Double Stroller Question

Would you get a double jogging stroller as your  main double stroller?  The reason why I'm asking is b/c I think we'll definitely use a double stroller and probably enjoy a jogging stroller too.  But I wasn't sure if that'd be too bulky and hard to travel with (being key question).  I just found an instep double safari double jogging on CL.  Just curious if anyone had any thoughts?

Re: Double Stroller Question

  • I think it depends on the brand. While I am CRAZY about our jogging stroller that we have for DS for use around the farm (the wheels are like bike tires and roll great over all the gravel, grass, etc.). I also got a smaller umbrella stroller that stays in my car because the jogging stroller is so bulky and heavy for me to deal with. We knew we needed two for different purposes so that worked well for us. That being said, I've seen some jogging strollers that look as lightwieght as our umbrella stroller. So I think it depends on the brand. we'll not be getting a jogging stroller for our double stroller as the main times I'll need the double will be when i'm not here and want a quick pop up stroller. So I think it depends on where you're using it and the brand. GL!

  • You saw the double stroller I had.  I really only used it in the beginning when Caylee was still in infant seat and I could strap it in the Quattro Tour and Camryn could ride in the front.  We didn't use it a whole lot after that, just a few times here and there.  Can you hook an infant seat in any kind of double stroller?

I sold mine on GL and now if we were going anywhere we would just use two separate strollers (and this is what we did at Disney).

  • We have a double BOB which I LOVE. We use it almost daily for our walks and when I run. With that being said I also have a joovy caboose sit and stand which I use at the mall or anywhere. Double joggers are WIDE. While I have seen people use them at the malls, I'd rather not. It would be a tight squeeze in some places. Although I own four strollers so I'm probably not the best advice. I have a single joggle, double jogger, umbrella stroller and sit and stand. To me they all serve a purpose. I justified by saying when I sell both BOB's I will get probably 3/4 of what I paid for them as they are always in demand on CL.

I was wondering if your stroller was still for sale.  I'm pretty lost on what would be the best fit for us.  I like to take walks with R by myself so I'd probably get a lot of use out of a double.  The double jogging stroller I saw on CL stated that it had an adapter for an infant seat.  I figured I would get a lot of use out of a jogger, but then I thought about how much room a jogging stroller takes up in the car and if it's a double then that'll take up a ton of space!

  • I use our double stroller (Baby Trend Sit and Stand) for walks and going to the mall.  We use it less now that the girls both sit in the wagon and get bored in the stroller.  I would have found having a side-by-side jogging stroller to be very bulky and hard to manuever when at the mall etc.

  • I have a Baby Trend double jog stroller and my Graco car seat does snap into it. I absolutely love it, but I only use it for walks and to take to the park (we live near several walking trails and parks). We got it from BRU and the guy we bought it from said it will not fit in stores, so I have never tried. A friend borrowed it to take to the zoo and she said it worked great (she even went out and bought one). I would definitely recommend it for walking and running and outdoor events, but not to use at stores and the mall. Good luck!
