While acknowledging that Myles is a legit spelling, I prefer Miles. There are too many names with randomly inserted/feminizing Ys, and even though this is not one of them, I think you can avoid even the appearance of wrongdoing by just going with Miles.
I also like Miles. I do have a question, and am not trying to be rude/snarky by any means. But people get flamed all the time on here for changing the spelling of a name even when its just a slight change, so why is it ok in this case? Just trying to figure out when its ok to change a spelling and when its not ok?

Haha it's not okay in this case, that's why everyone prefers Miles!

OH! I have 2 friends names Myles, so I just assumed that was the correct spelling! ::sticks foot in mouth::

Myles is a spelling with a very long history. You may have heard of Myles Standish, military leader of the Pilgrims. When a name has variant spellings with long histories (Ann/Anne, Catherine/Katherine), it is not the same as changing the spelling just to make yourself feel special.

I'm torn on this one...I like Myles because Miles reminds me of miles, as in the measure of distance...
However, if you wanted to use the nickname Milo, then Miles would make more sense IMO.
I think either is acceptable...just depends on your preference.
