We're getting close to LO's arrival and I'm still not sold on a boy's name. I think the problem is that we have two very different front runners at this point, Samuel and Oscar. Samuel is a nice, safe choice in my head, but I know a good handful of them already from DS's activities and consider it kind of "common". DH and I both like Oscar, but I'm not in love with Oscar like I was with Elliott (DS's name) and I know that it is one of those names that people either love or hate. Not sure what my actual question is, but just trying to work through this in my mind.

Re: Go the "safe" route?
Are you open to suggestions at all? If so, how about Bennett or Emmett? IDK those are some suggestions on nymbler.com, maybe try that?
You could also wait till LO comes and make the decision when you see his precious face!

I'm open to suggestions as well, why not! I feel like I'm Nymblered out at this point!
Oliver and Simon have been suggestions that have been nixed just in case anybody was going to go there. I'm not a huge fan of having the names rhyme or end in "tt" again.
I think Oscar or Samuel go well with Elliott, so I can see your issue. If you're leaning towards Samuel I'd go with it.

LOL okay, sorry!
Phillip I think would go nicely with Elliot.
Eric (going for the matching "e's"
Matthew, Andrew, Benjamin, Henry
Lol sorry I'm new at this!

I think you should go with safe if you don't love a name. If a name is different, less popular, whatever, you might feel like you are defending it more often or questioning it more often and then the safer name would be less of an issue.
OK, here are some other ideas:
Luke
Ford
August
Arlo
Grady
Hudson
FWIW, I love Oscar.
I like Samuel and Oscar. If you feel that Samuel is too common in your area, I think Oscar is a great choice. Oscar Samuel sounds nice IMHO.
You could always do what pp's suggested and wait until you meet your LO to decide.
I really like both names. I would go with Oscar personally though, just because it is a little less common. I know a sweet little boy named Oscar and everyone loves his name.
Oh and I LOVE Elliot!!!
