You girls are probably sick of my IVF questions. This should hopefully be my last.
1. When do you drink gatorade during IVF cycle? I though I remember reading you should drink the original one - what is that and is that true?
2. For DH - how many days should we abstain for a "good sample"?
Thank you so much for all of your answers and advice over the past few months.
Re: last of my IVF questions
Don't worry about the questions - we all have them!
You only need to drink gatorade if you are at risk for OHSS. Your dr will monitor you closely and willbe able to tell by how you're feeling and your E2 levels, if this is a possibility.
As for abstaining, I think we were told 3-5 days. It's not as big of a deal with IVF (especially with ICSI) unless you have really really low numbers. But ask your clinic for their recommendation just to be on the safe side.
Good luck!
I've been chugging Gatorade but my e2 levels have been really high. If you can, I'd drink some, just to be safe, but if they haven't mentioned an elevated e2, then you should be fine.
When I was told to trigger, on Sunday, the doc said that DH should "clear the pipes" in anticipation for our ER on Tuesday.
HTH and good luck!
I drink gatorade the day of and for a few days after my retrieval. I haven't been at risk for OHSS but I still bloat pretty bad and I think that helps. Also, since I couldn't drink for 4 hours prior to the procedure I think I'm a bit dehydrated afterwards.
Well, he should ejaculate the night of your trigger-- and they really like that to be non-sex just in case there are any eggs that release early or that they don't get at the ER. Besides that, as long as you don't have any MF issues I would have sex up to that point.
Good luck!!
1. I was only told to drink Gatorade when I developed OHSS. Otherwise I don't think it's necessary.
2. When my nurse called me and gave me the go ahead to trigger she said DH should ejaculate that night and not again till day of ER (I triggered Monday, so she said to ejaculate Monday night, and ER was Wednesday morning).
